You Are Enough | Honoring Juneteenth, Our Roots, and the Music Rising

Juneteenth Reflection: The Roots Remember

There is a tree on the African savanna called the baobab. Its wide trunk holds memory, and its deep roots reach water even in drought. When bare, it is not dead—it is remembering.

Juneteenth is our baobab.

To some, it marks the end of slavery in the United States. But deeper still, it reveals how truth was withheld—freedom delayed, not because it wasn’t proclaimed, but because those in power weren’t ready to surrender control.

And still, we endured.

Juneteenth speaks to all those uprooted—from Congo to Mississippi, Angola to Alabama. It echoes through every ship hold, every cotton field, and every song that carried resistance through generations. It reminds us: Freedom must be delivered—and defended.

New Release: “You Are Enough: Roots of Beauty” – Out Now!

Now airing in Kenya and across global radio platforms, this song reminds us that beauty lives in character, deeds, and rootedness—not in fleeting trends. It’s a call back to what cannot be erased: our spiritual grounding and inherent worth.

From Kenya to the world, African music is thriving:

• Folk revival is bringing back traditional instruments and indigenous pride.

• Women in music are leading bold new paths—composers, DJs, and storytellers.

• Gengetone and East African fusion are crossing into global markets.

Let’s celebrate a sound that carries history and future in the same breath.
